4.3 Advertising in Some Apps
Some WagDev apps display banner advertisements through Google AdMob. Whether a specific app uses ads is disclosed in that app's Privacy Policy Supplement — not every app does, and we never enable ads in an app without disclosing it.
When an app does serve ads, Google AdMob collects the following data on Google's behalf:
- IP address
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android — collection is contingent on user consent via App Tracking Transparency on iOS or Ad ID controls on Android)
- Approximate location derived from the IP address (country/region only)
- Diagnostic and performance data (crash reports, latency)
- Records of ads served and user interactions with ads (impressions, clicks)
- A Google-assigned SDK instance ID
Google's use of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy and the Google Mobile Ads SDK terms. We do not share any user-generated content (workout entries, journal entries, notes, tasks, photos, etc.) with AdMob or any advertising provider. AdMob only receives the data listed above, which is necessary for serving and measuring ads.
European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Swiss users will see a Google-provided consent message before any non-essential ad data is collected, in compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive. US users in states with privacy laws (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) will see a state-appropriate opt-out notice. You may revoke advertising consent at any time through your device's system privacy settings.
